Youngpreneur Spotlight

Effective July 14, 2026
The short version. The Youngpreneur Spotlight is a design contest for young creators age 24 and under. You submit an original design and the idea behind it. A shortlist of five finalists is chosen, the public votes in two rounds, and the winning design is produced and sold in the Youngpreneur store with the designer credited and a share of the profit. No purchase is necessary to enter or to win. The full official rules are below, and the current cycle’s dates live on the How It Works page.

1.Sponsor

This contest is run by Business Key Solutions, LLC, doing business as Youngpreneur, PO Box 56, Saint George, SC 29477 (the Sponsor). The Sponsor operates shopyoungpreneur.com.

2.No purchase necessary

No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or to win. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning.

3.Eligibility

  • Entrants must be 24 years of age or younger at the time of entry.
  • Entrants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian enter with them and provide consent. The parent or guardian agrees to these rules on the minor’s behalf.
  • Open to legal residents of the United States only. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
  • Employees, contractors, and judges of the Sponsor, and their immediate family and household members, are not eligible to win.

4.Contest cycles and key dates

The Spotlight runs in seasonal cycles. From Spotlight V onward, the designer is chosen through open applications, a shortlist of five finalists, and a public vote. Each cycle has its own application open and close dates, finalist announcement, voting rounds, winner reveal, and collection debut. Those dates are published on the How It Works page and are part of these rules by reference. All times are stated in Eastern Time. The Sponsor may adjust dates if needed and will post any change.

5.How to enter

Enter through the official application on the Sponsor’s website during an open application window. You will provide your design file, the concept behind it, and the information the form requests. One entry per person per cycle unless the Sponsor states otherwise. Entries must be received by the posted deadline. The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries or for technical failures.

6.Entry requirements

  • Your design must be original, created by you, and owned by you. You must hold all rights needed to submit it and to allow it to be produced and sold.
  • Entries may not include third party trademarks, logos, copyrighted material, or any other person’s intellectual property without written permission.
  • Entries may not be unlawful, infringing, defamatory, hateful, sexual, or otherwise objectionable, and must fit the Youngpreneur brand.
  • The Sponsor may disqualify any entry that does not meet these requirements.

7.Selection of finalists

The Sponsor reviews and curates entries and selects up to five finalists per cycle based on quality, originality, and fit with the Youngpreneur brand. Each finalist must sign a participation agreement and consent form before being announced. A parent or guardian signs for a finalist under 18. If a finalist declines, cannot be reached, or is disqualified, the Sponsor may select an alternate.

8.Public voting

  • After finalists are announced, the public votes in two rounds. Round 1 includes all five finalists and runs about three weeks. The final round is the top two finalists and runs about one week.
  • Voting is limited to one vote per person, tied to one email address.
  • Automated, fraudulent, purchased, incentivized, or otherwise manipulated votes are void and may cause disqualification. The Sponsor may use anti fraud measures and is the final judge of valid votes.
  • A leaderboard may be shown during voting.

9.How ties are broken

If finalists tie for the last advancing spot in Round 1, all tied finalists advance. If the final round ends in a tie, a 48 hour sudden death runoff opens between the tied finalists. If the sudden death round also ties, the Sponsor makes the final decision. This order is fixed and stated in advance.

10.Winner selection and notification

The finalist with the most valid votes in the final round wins. The winner is notified using the contact information provided and must respond within five days and complete any required documents. If a winner cannot be reached, declines, or fails to comply, the Sponsor may name the next eligible finalist.

11.Prize and reward

  • The winning design is produced and sold in the Youngpreneur store with the designer credited.
  • The winner receives a share of the net profit from their collection. The specific percentage and how profit is calculated are set out in the winner’s separate written agreement. The profit share depends on actual sales and is not guaranteed to reach any particular amount.
  • The winner also receives a personalized signature piece and a piece from the collection to keep, with an approximate combined retail value of $150.
  • All five finalists receive an official finalist certificate and a branded gift, with an approximate retail value of $40.
  • Any taxes on a prize are the responsibility of the recipient. Prizes are not transferable and there is no cash alternative except at the Sponsor’s discretion.

12.Ownership and license

You keep ownership of your original design. By entering, you grant the Sponsor a license to display and use your submission to run and promote the contest. By accepting the prize, the winner grants the Sponsor the rights needed to produce, manufacture, sell, and market products featuring the winning design and to use it in connection with the collection for the period the collection is offered for sale. The winner keeps ownership of the original artwork. You confirm that you own or control all rights in your entry and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

13.Publicity and consent

Except where prohibited, and subject to the signed consent obtained from each finalist, entry allows the Sponsor to use finalists’ and the winner’s name, likeness, image, voice, statements, design, and biographical information to advertise and promote the contest and the Youngpreneur brand, without additional payment. For a finalist under 18, a parent or guardian provides this consent in writing before anything is shown publicly.

14.Privacy

Information collected is used to run the contest and is handled under the Youngpreneur Privacy Policy. It is not sold.

15.Conditions and disqualification

The Sponsor may disqualify anyone who breaks these rules, tampers with the contest, cheats, or behaves unfairly or disruptively. If fraud, a technical failure, or another cause beyond the Sponsor’s control affects the fairness or running of the contest, the Sponsor may modify, suspend, or cancel it.

16.Release and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, by entering you release and agree not to hold liable the Sponsor and its owners, affiliates, judges, and partners for any claim, injury, loss, or damage arising out of participation in the contest or the acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize. Everything is provided on an as is basis, without warranties of any kind.

17.Governing law and disputes

These rules are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute relating to the contest will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina, and by entering you agree to that jurisdiction.

18.General

Void where prohibited. If any part of these rules is found unenforceable, the rest still apply. The Sponsor’s failure to enforce any part is not a waiver of it.

19.Winners and finalists

The winner and finalists for each cycle are announced on the Youngpreneur Spotlight page.

20.Changes to these rules

The Sponsor may change, update, or replace these rules at any time, with or without notice. The version posted here is always the current one, and continuing to take part after a change means you accept the updated rules. Material changes will be noted with a new effective date.
